Brian Blessed might has revealed that while he may be best known for his villainous turn in Flash Gordon, he would rather be remembered for the TV hit I, Claudius.
The actor and adventurer, who is back on screen as the voice of Eduardo Enormomonster in new Disney Junior show Henry Hugglemonster has notched up a string of big and small screen roles ov erthe years.
His best-known appearances include Z Cars, I, Claudius and Flash Gordon - while more recently he has been heard on a string of children's shows including Peppa Pig and Little Princess.
However he admitted that he was most fondly remembered for just one role.
"The problem is, I'm so popular throughout the world as Vultan in Flash Gordon, and I do adore that, but it's not my best performance," the actor said.
"I think that would be Augustus Caesar in I, Claudius."
He added: "I got about seven different awards for it. That was the most demanding one."
Brian's latest role in Henry Hugglemonster - which also features the voice of Geri Halliwell - can be seen on Disney Junior every day at 5.50pm.
