A host of TV stars have voiced their opinions on twitter following today's shock election results that have resulted in a hung parliament

Celebrities have seen the funny side of the “hilarious” and “extraordinary” General Election results.

Sue Perkins, Gary Lineker, Piers Morgan and Ricky Gervais were among those commenting on the outcome, which has resulted with a hung parliament, and quickly took to twitter to voice their quips and cutting comments.

Armando Iannucci, who created political satires The Thick Of It and Veep, wrote:

Meanwhile actor and comedian Ricky Gervias joked that he was preparing for a "well hung" parliament.

And former Great British Bake Off host, Sue Perkins quipped,

Elsewhere Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan, never one to be shy about voicing his opinions, wrote,

He added “Theresa’s toast” saying that she “has lost any authority/power to lead this country’s Brexit negotiations. She has to go”.

And Professor Brian Cox weighed in with his opinion saying,
