Drifters has been renewed for a second series by Channel 4.
The sitcom, written by and starring Jessica Knappett, launched on E4 earlier this year and has been picked up again by the broadcaster as part of a drive to 'foreground female voices', according to the Radio Times.
Jessica plays Meg, who along with best pals Laura (Lauren O'Rourke) and Bunny (Lydia Rose Bewley), is drifting without direction through life after leaving university.
The news was announced during Channel 4's annual report, where head of comedy Phil Clarke praised Jessica, who also starred in The Inbetweeners Movie.
He said: "Her writing gets stronger and stronger and she was a different writer at the end of that series than she had been at the beginning."
Phil also talked about a new direction for the channel which would focus on female writers and performers such as London Irish writer Lisa McGee, columnist and novelist Caitlin Moran, whose Raised By Wolves pilot has been given a full series, and Roisin Conaty who starred in Man Down and has developed a new project for the broadcaster.
Jessica has recently been cast alongside Friends star David Schwimmer in a pilot called Irreversible for US channel ABC.
