Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and husband Jean Bernard have been granted a decree nisi divorce, bringing their two-year marriage to a close

A 'decree nisi' has been issued in Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini’s divorce, signalling the end of their marriage.

The singer’s spokesman confirmed that the pair had obtained a 'decree nisi in their divorce proceedings' after their case was listed at the Central Family Court in London.

The 33-year-old former Girls Aloud singer secretly married French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in July 2014, after just three months of dating.

Cheryl’s spokesman said: “Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini have today obtained a decree nisi in their divorce proceedings.

“No further comment will be made and they ask for their privacy to be respected.”

Jean-Bernard, 35, was the star’s second husband.

The singer is currently in a relationship with One Direction star Liam Payne.

She was previously married to England footballer Ashley Cole for four years before the couple divorced in 2010.
