Despite British actress Helena Bonham Carter's unsettlingly believable simian appearance in his 2001 Planet of the Apes remake, director Tim Burton fell in love with her.

After the movie wrapped the two became romantically involved, and the couple famously knocked their two adjoining houses together in Hampstead.

Planet of the Apes is showing tonight - Tuesday 29th May - on Sky 1 HD at 10.35pm
