Couch Potato's Tuesday Trivia: Why Whitney Houston's big song from The Bodyguard almost caused a car crash.

Forget Valentine's Day, the essential viewing tonight has to be The Bodyguard in light of Whitney Houston's tragic death this weekend.

And it's widely agreed that the singer's powerhouse version of I Will Always Love You from this - her debut movie - has to be the late star's signature song. In fact, it is more associated with Houston now than it is with its original singer and writer Dolly Parton http://youtube.com/v/3JWTaaS7LdU Dolly first heard Whitney Houston's version of the song from The Bodyguard back in 1992 she didn't recognise it immediately. She was listening to her car radio while driving and thought to herself ' that sounds familiar'. It wasn't until Houston was belting out the words 'I will always love you' that Dolly twigged - almost crashing her car in the process.

Since then Dolly has always praised Houston's version of the song, noting, "I will always be grateful and in awe of the wonderful performance'. And as soon as the tragic news broke over the weekend, she posted the following message on Facebook:

Mine is only one of the millions of hearts broken over the death of Whitney Houston. I will always be grateful and in awe of the wonderful performance she did on my song, and I can truly say from the bottom of my heart, "Whitney, I will always love you. You will be missed.” -Dolly Parton

The Bodyguard is showing tonight - Tuesday 14th February - on ITV2 at 11pm.
