Dan Ryan received a torrent of abuse when his character, Dan, cheated on his wife a few years back, but now the on-screen couple are stronger than ever in Mount Pleasant
Dan and Lisa have had some ups and downs, but the popular married couple are happier than they've ever been in the new series of Sky1's Mount Pleasant.
Viewers will be delighted to hear the news, but not as pleased as Dan Ryan, who stars as his namesake opposite Sally Lindsay. The actor was subjected to a torrent of online abuse when his character did the dirty a few years back...
"I'll never forget my Twitter timeline when Dan had his little blip with Tanya in series three," explained Dan.
"I had a timeline full of abuse! We suddenly realised how much people wanted Dan and Lisa to be a strong couple. They're back on form again, which is good because I don't want to experience anything like that again!"
Yet Dan and Lisa aren't the only partnership on the show, as Dan grows closer to his father-in-law, played by legendary comic, Bobby Ball.
"I won't call it a double-act because Bobby Ball only has one double-act," says Dan. "But their relationship is really cemented this year!"
