Deadliest Catch’s Captain, Sig Hansen, has had a health scare while filming the show.
The show’s official Twitter and Instagram accounts explained that he was taken ill and was airlifted to a hospital.
The popular TV show documents the lives and escapades of the fishing crews who brave the treacherous conditions of Alaska’s seas as they fish.
They wrote: “Captain Sig Hansen experienced chest pain at sea during the taping of Deadliest Catch. While Sig was determined to keep going, the crew acted swiftly and insisted that they dock to get him help. He was airlifted to Anchorage, Alaska, and immediately rushed to a medical facility. He is with his family and in good spirits. Please send him your love and prayers!”
They posted a series of Tweets:
Hey Catch Crew, we know there have been a lot of questions about Sig today. But we wanted to make sure we had all the info for you. (1 of 4)
