A van used in TV show Only Fools And Horses sold for more than £40,000, twice the auction house's estimate. Coys of Kensington had expected the three-wheeled Reliant Regal van to sell for £20,000, but were thrilled when a bidder offered £44,227.50. The van, bearing the company logo Trotters Independent Trading Co, New York, Paris, Peckham, was the second made for the TV comedy and was used from series six onwards. A 1960s Batmobile sold for almost £120,000 at the same specialist car auction at the Royal Horticultural Hall. The Batmobile had been estimated at £75,000 but eventually sold for £119,100. Coys PR director David Barzilay said: "We are staggered with the prices for those two cars. It's just amazing." The Batmobile was built in 1966 to tour the USA, promoting the TV series starring Adam West as Batman. It's believed to be the sixth Batmobile and was built by Jay Orhberg, of Jay Ohrberg Star Cars in Hollywood, California. The Coys Spring Classics auction also featured a Ferrari owned by musician Chris Rea which he commissioned to resemble Phil Hill's Ferrari 196SP from the 60s. It sold for £28,000, less than its estimate of £38,000-£45,000.
