Emma Willis: The Voice on ITV 'feels like an old friend who's gone to the hairdresser's!' (VIDEO)
The Voice UK host Emma Willis has described the show's move from BBC1 to ITV as like a friend who's had a makeover
The Voice presenter Emma Willis says the new series on ITV feels like it's had a makeover.
The Voice UK switches from original channel BBC1 to ITV this series and Emma told What's on TV: "It feels like an old friend that's been to the hairdresser's. It's still the same show that you know and love with a bunch of faces that you know and love, but a brand new load of contestants and two fantastic new coaches.
"At the heart of it it's still exactly the same, but it's had a bit of a makeover."
Emma enthused about the coaching line-up, which features Will.i.am and the return of Sir Tom Jones, plus Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, who got her break on American Idol, and rock band Bush singer, Gavin Rossdale.
Emma said: "Gavin's such a lovely bloke, [he's] taken to it really easily, not fazed by anything, really relaxed and tries to give the best feedback he can to help them go on their way and conquer what they want to conquer... Jennifer comes from this kind of show so she knows it better than anyone, plus that voice of her's is just, I've never heard anything like it...
"Will is the usual unique Will that you always want and Tom, it's been lovely having him back. He's been on great form and he's really excited to be back, I think."

There is a twist on this series. If no coach turns in the Blind Audition, the singer leaves without any feedback at all from the coaches, which Emma described as 'hard'.
She continued: "I have got emotional, and we've just filmed the kids' Voice as well and it got ridiculous. I cried a lot that series. There wasn't loads of tears during this one, it's all quite positive and lovely, I think that's what we need in January. We need some fun, family-friendly entertainment."
