It's been little over a week since new pictures from Killing Eve series two emerged, and now viewers have been in hysterics over a brand new trailer from the BBC.

We can hardly wait for Killing Eve to return to our screens later this year - most likely sometime in the Spring - and now the BBC have treated fans to a sneak peek into what’s in store for series two.

The Beeb revealed the footage as part of a bigger launch of their 2019 dramas, including new seasons of Poldark, Les Miserables and Luther.

However, it's Killing Eve that fans are most excited for, with thousands heading to the show’s Instagram page to express their excitement (and impatience!).

One fan commented: ‘SEASON 2!! WHEN?? PLEASE!!’ while another added: ‘I’m totally obsessed! Can’t wait to see more. Reading the book now for my fix and to know more about these fantastic female characters.’

Co-written and executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the series follows a cat-and-mouse chase as Eve, played by Sandra Oh, hunts down killer Villanelle, played by Jodie Comer.

Last series' gripping finale left us on tenterhooks as Eve stabbed Villanelle following their chase, and recently revealed pics from the series two set hinted at even more bloodshed to come.

While Phoebe is hard at work on a new series of her other hit show Fleabag, Call The Midwife's Emerald Fennell has taken over Killing Eve writing duties.

Other stars joining the second series include Nina Sosanya, Edward Bluemel and The Mighty Boosh's Julian Barratt.

Aside from the trailer, no further details on the plot have been revealed, but it's most likely to be true to the book series from which the show was adapted - Luke Jenning's Codename Villanelle e-book series.

The first series of Killing Eve was based on V illanelle Hollowpoint. Other books in the series include Codename Villanelle, V illanelle: Shanghai and most recently Odessa. Another book, Villanelle: No Tomorrow, is scheduled for release in 2019.

We don't know about you, but we're already counting down the days until Spring...
