Gary Lineker feels the nerves ahead of his Have I Got News For You debut

Gary Lineker has admitted to being nervous about hosting Have I Got News For You.

The football pundit is no stranger to chairing a TV show as the host of Match Of The Day, but he will be trying something completely different when he takes the hot seat for the BBC topical comedy show.

He tweeted about his anxiety ahead of Thursday night’s recording.

Presenting #HIGNFY for the first time. Recording this evening. A little nervous. I just wish there were some football stories in the news.

It’s expected that Gary will have plenty to say about this week’s FIFA news, which saw seven corrupt officials from the footballing organisation arrested in dawn raids.

He had tweeted his views on the scandal.
