The photo was taken seven years before London-born Daniel made his acting debut aged only 10 in the BBC1 drama David Copperfield, in which he appeared alongside Bob Hoskins, Pauline Quirke and Dame Maggie Smith.

One year later Daniel was cast aged 11 as Harry Potter in the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Daniel, who features in the Who Do You Think You Are? episode to go out on Monday 22nd July at 9pm on BBC1, also revealed another family photo.

The star will also be seen heading to Northern Ireland as he learns about his great-great uncle Ernie. He reads love letters between Ernie and his sweetheart, Jeannie, before Ernie sadly died during World War One.

The new series of Who Do You Think You Are has an all-star line-up this year. Among those taking part are James Bond actress Naomie Harris, Have I Got News For You team captain Paul Merton and Hollywood star Kate Winslet.
