Speculation is rife that Noel Edmonds' Saturday night hit Noel's House Party could be making a return to screens. The Mirror reports that the Deal Or No Deal host has been approached by BBC bosses about making a one-off special of the wacky show, which was axed in 1999 after an eight-year run. "It was a softly, softly approach because of the fall-out after the show was axed in 1999," said an source close to the negotiations. "The BBC, though, is determined to make it happen." However the paper says that a return to BBC screens would involve Edmonds having to sort out his other work commitments, including Deal and his shows on Sky, Noel's HQ and Are You Smarter Than A 10-Year-Old? "Noel loves working at Sky and it would take an unbelievable offer to consider him leaving altogether," the insider added “However, there is definitely scope for him doing a one-off House Party special. Anything beyond that is up to the BBC." Noel's House Party, which went out live on Saturday evenings, was a smash hit with viewers and also spawned the character of Mr Blobby. Edmonds was furious when the show was axed in 1999 by then BBC One controller Peter Salmon. "He axed the shows, but he can't axed the man," Edmonds said at the time.
