Comedian Jason Manford has been named as Adrian Chiles' replacement on The One Show and will start work in July. Jason, 29, will join co-host Christine Bleakley on the sofa from Monday to Thursday, while Chris Evans will present the Friday editions. Jason said: "I am thrilled to be part of The One Show team. My Dad put £10 at 500/1 that I'd get the job so it just made sense." Controller of BBC One Jay Hunt says: "Jason looked instantly at home on The One Show sofa. His intelligence and humour strike just the right tone for the programme and he is an exciting addition to the team." Adrian jumped ship to ITV amid reports he was unhappy with the BBC's decision to enlist Chris for the Friday night editions. The One Show draws audiences of more than five million.
