John Lennon is appearing in a TV advert created 28 years after he died. The Beatles legend - who was assassinated in 1980 - appears in a commercial for charity One Laptop Per Child Foundation, which is campaigning to supply computers to the world's poorest children. Permission to use Lennon's voice and image were given by his widow, Yoko Ono, NME.com reports. In the advert The Beatles legend says, via 'digital technology': "Imagine every child no matter where in the world they were could access a universe of knowledge. They would have a chance to learn, to dream, to achieve anything they want. I tried to do it through my music, but now you can do it in a very different way. "You can give a child a laptop and more than imagine. You can change the world." The One Laptop Per Child Foundation - part of a project by the Massachusetts Institute Of Technology - supplies £140, solar powered machines to the world's poorest places to help them gain access to technology. Air-time for the advert will be donated free of charge by cable stations in the US next year. CLICK below to watch John Lennon on the OLPC ad.
