Lenny Henry to star in new series of BBC1 lottery drama The Syndicate

Lenny Henry (opens in new tab) will join Anthony Andrews (Brideshead Revisted) and Elizabeth Berrington (Waterloo Road) in the third series of Kay Mellor's BBC1 drama The Syndicate, which has just begun filming in Yorkshire.
The new series, set in 2015, follows the residents and staff at the once impressive Hazelwood Manor which overlooks Scarborough and has now fallen into serious disrepair.
Everyone's lives change forever when the gardener Godfrey (Lenry Henry), who suffers from Asperger's syndrome, comes up with the winning lottery numbers for the staff syndicate using a carefully calculated mathematical system.
Scooping the £14 million jackpot should be the answer to everyone's prayers, but as we all know, it's never quite that simple...
The Syndicate will screen on BBC1 next year.
