Look who's back: It's only Frank and Betty Spencer!

Michael Crawford will reprise his famous role as Frank Spencer in Some Mothers Do ‘Ave 'Em in a one-off special for Sport Relief.

The cult BBC comedy was last seen on TV on Christmas Day in 1978.

Michael, 74, will reunite with his on-screen wife, Betty, played by Michele Dotrice, for the sketch, which will be shown during Sport Relief Night on BBC One on March 18.

The sketch will see Frank land himself in a few of his usual comedy disasters, culminating in a meeting with Olympic cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins at the cycling centre in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.

Michael said: “I am thrilled and delighted to have been asked to bring Frank back for Sport Relief.”

Michele said it would be an 'absolute joy to be reunited again with Frank' and that it was fitting 'for it is such a wonderful cause'.

Sir Bradley said: “I am a huge fan of Michael so it’s an absolute honour to be asked to be involved alongside such an icon of British television … and all for a great cause!”

One of the most popular segments from the BBC One TV show saw Frank causing mayhem on a pair of rollerskates.

Following the TV show’s conclusion in 1978, Michael went on to star in the original production of The Phantom Of The Opera and other successful Andrew Lloyd Webber productions such as The Wizard Of Oz.
