Philip Glenister 'furious' about the way US producers 'remake and mess up' British TV series

Philip Glenister has said he is furious about the way the US remade his hit show Life On Mars and 'messed it up'.

The actor starred as DCI Gene Hunt in the award-winning BBC One series, which was later adapted for American audiences with Harvey Keitel in his role.

Philip told The Mirror he was less than impressed with the US version and is fed up with the way British shows are rebooted across the pond.

“They remade it and messed it up,” he said. “They did it with Mad Dogs and they messed that up as well. Furious.

“It’s a great source of frustration, I think, certainly for British actors. The one series that seems to have worked for them was The Office.”

Philip, 53, is now starring in US series Outcast, playing a hard-bitten West Virginian clergyman helping to battle demonic possession.
