Jodi Balfour will play Dormer's on-screen partner in Rellik

Rellik ('killer' spelt backwards), will air on BBC One and has been produced as part of a collaboration between Cinemax, New Pictures and Two Brothers Pictures.

The perpetrator is caught before the drama moves backwards in time to the very beginning – the crime itself and ultimately the killer. The search for the killer provides the backbone of the story but the damaged and disfigured Met detective, Gabriel Markham, played by Richard Dormer is at the centre of the storyline.

Unrelenting, Gabriel starts an obsessive hunt for a serial killer who has left a mark on him both physically and mentally.

The Crown star Jodi Balfour stars as Gabriel's partner Elaine. Dormer and Balfour will be joined by a stellar cast including Rosalind Eleazar (Christine), Paterson Joseph (Isaac), Paul Rhys (Patrick), Michael Shaeffer (Steven) and Lærke Winther (Lisa).

Harry and Jack Williams, Writers and Executive Producers for Two Brothers Pictures, said: “We are really pleased to be working with the BBC again and to be partnering with Cinemax for the first time. Rellik is a dark thriller tonally very different to anything we’ve done before and we’re looking forward to bringing it to the screen."

Christopher Aird, BBC Executive Producer, said: "Jack and Harry are two of the most imaginative TV writers around and we’re thrilled BBC One is home for Rellik, their boldest series yet.”
