Sir Ridley Scott is set to produce a film version of hit 1980s TV series The A-Team. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Twentieth Century Fox intends to transform the series into a blockbuster summer film, slated to hit US cinemas in 2010. Blade Runner director Sir Ridley said the film will be a 'fast-paced, exciting franchise, one we hope will be around for years to come'. The original TV series followed the adventures of a group of Vietnam veterans - Hannibal, Face, Murdock, and BA Baracus - who escape from prison and become do-gooder mercenaries. Bruce Willis, Ice Cube and Woody Harrelson are rumoured to be starring in the remake. The movie will be based on the premise of the TV show, although the Middle East is likely to replace Vietnam as the place where the soldiers served. Stephen J Cannell and Jules Daley, who co-created the television show, are to co-produce the project, with Joe Carnahan directing. "You can make a film that reflects on the real world without losing the great sense of fun and the velocity of action in a classic summer popcorn film," said Joe.
