Rochelle Humes: 'Guess who I'd like to see on Ninja Warrior UK'

Rochelle Humes has revealed who she would like to see take part in the new game show Ninja Warrior UK which begins tonight on ITV.

The show sees members of the public taking on jaw-dropping challenges, with six obstacles in each course, before they are crowned Ninja Warrior UK.

And Rochelle is already thinking about a celebrity edition of the gruelling game show,  which she co-presents with Good Morning Britain's Ben Shephard and Sky Sports pundit Chris Kamara.

“I’d like to see Keith Lemon," she says. "He would be hilarious!"

But isn't there someone closer to home who could take part? Rochelle's husband, Marvin Humes, the former JLS singer and co-host of The Voice, for instance?

"Marvin said to the executive producer he’d like to give it a go," reveals Rochelle. "But I think he’s changed his mind now!”

Meanwhile, Ben says he would like to see Gordon Ramsay take on the Ninja Warrior obstacle course.

“I’d love to see Gordon Ramsay give it a go, he’s really fit and I think he’d do well,” Ben said.

Ben didn’t shy away from the show’s challenges and even had a go on the course himself.

“I did, it was OK,” he said. “There were a lot of people watching and we were filming – it was an incredible experience just to do it.

“Your adrenaline is going and each and every obstacle is a different proposition. I got a great insight into what our contestants are going to go through and it’s tough.”

Ben added: “The heat has six obstacles and from there it escalates in difficulty. If the contestants think the heat and semi-final’s tough, the final will redefine the word.

“And then, if anyone manages that, they face the ultimate Ninja Warrior challenge Mount Midoriyama – a 75ft rope climb against the clock.”

Rochelle says that viewers will be surprised by the mix of contestants who take part in the show.

“We have lots of women, which is great. Our oldest contestant is a 67-year-old woman, which is hugely inspirational and our youngest is 18,” she said.

“What we’ve seen so far during the shows is that you don’t have to be a muscle man to complete the course, you need agility and strength.”

Ninja Warrior UK begins on ITV tonight at 7.00pm.
