The returns of comic duo Paul Whitehouse and Harry Enfield was eagerly awaited, but their new show drew more complaints than praise. More than 100 people complained about an allegedly homophobic sketch on Ruddy Hell! It's Harry and Paul on BBC One on Friday night. The two comics played Laurel and Hardy as the gay cowboy lovers in the Oscar-winning movie Brokeback Mountain, according to the Daily Mirror. But a BBC spokesman defended the show, after 109 viewers complained. "There is no intention to cause offence. An element of their comedy is to satirise highly esteemed, iconic figures carrying out actions that are so far removed from reality as to be absurd."
