Ant missed the finale of the last series after a drink-driving conviction

Scarlett Moffatt has praised her Saturday Night Takeaway co-host Ant McPartlin, following his struggles over the last 12 months.

Ant, 42, was forced to miss the finale of the latest series after a drink-driving conviction, and 28-year-old Scarlett has opened up about the impact on the rest of the cast.

She told The Sun: ‘We all just missed him. But we wanted to give the viewers a show. Ant was always in the back of our minds because we love him, just as the viewers do. He’s just such an amazing soul, an amazing person.’

Scarlett also opened up about what a ‘dream come true’ it is to work with Ant and his co-host Declan Donnelly.

Discussing the framed photo of the trio she has next to her bed, Scarlett said: ‘It’s a picture of me as Mary Poppins, it’s like the highlight of my working life.

‘To do the Saturday Night Takeaway finale in Disney World, honestly, was my dream. So every morning when I wake up and see that photo, I’m like, “I’m living my dream”.’
