Benedict Cumberbatch, move over! See what American Pie’s The Shermanator looks like now…

Long gone are the braces, ginger hair and teenage acne

Next year it will be 20 years since American Pie was released, can you believe it? TWENTY YEARS!

Since then we've seen some not-so-good follow on films, some cameos and Jason Biggs (who played Jim) popping up on shows like Netflix's Orange Is the New Black from time to time.

But there's one character we had forgotten about...Sherman, The Shermanator. Remember him?

The self-confessed “sophisticated sex robot” liked to think he was bit of a hit with the ladies, though his tactics left a lot to be desired.

His lack of success was probably also down to his weird obsession with the Terminator films – hence ‘The Shermanator’ – along with his braces, his teenage skin and greasy, spiked hair.

Not much of a catch when you compared him to Oz, perhaps.

But it seems those awkward teenage years are long behind Chris Owen, who played Sherman, because look at him now...

The actor, now 37, has ditched his auburn hair for a platinum blonde new top and he's got a lot beefier by the look of things.

And his fans are loving it too.

After posting the snap on social media Chris was flooded with comments such as:

"You’ve been targeted for Shermanation," one fan quipped, while others added: "Its a good look on you Chris," and "Still got it."

Eagle-eyed fans also couldn't help but compare him to Britain's very own heart-throb saying things like: "Got a look of Benedict Cumberbatch going on there dude" and "Am I the only one that sees Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock?"

Yes, we can see it too!

His new ‘do is for his role in the latest film in the Sharknado franchise. It will be the sixth film in the series and will see Chris play a “blonde cowboy”.

Since the original film back in 1999, Chris starred in  American Pie 2, American Pie Presents: Band Camp and 2012’s American Pie reunion.
