The Art and Making of Penny Dreadful: Exclusive Preview

Here’s a sneaky peek inside the official companion book for Sky Atlantic’s Penny Dreadful!

The Art of Penny Dreadful

Last year, Sky Atlantic introduced viewers to Showtime’s Penny Dreadful, a Victorian-set psychological horror series, created by Skyfall screenwriter John Logan, that took some of literature's most famous characters - including Victor Frankenstein, Dorian Gray and iconic figures from Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula, and boldly re-imagined them in a whole new light, and giving them a terrifying new universe in which to play in.

The stellar ensemble cast, including Eva Green as psychic Vanessa Ives, Josh Hartnett as sharp-shooting werewolf Ethan Chandler, Timothy Dalton as fearless explorer Sir Malcolm, and Billie Piper as he pre-deceased Brona, all return for a second series, which is set to be a very witchy affair indeed, on Sky Atlantic on Tuesday 5 May, while Titan Books is releasing an official companion book on Friday 17 April.

The Art and Making of Penny Dreadful, written by Sharon Gosling, is a beautifully curated companion to the show, featuring an extensive behind-the-scenes look at the series with many previously unseen photos and images, in addition to interviews with the creator, cast and crew, all sumptuously bound in a Gothic-influenced tome.

Titan Books has provided this exclusive preview from the book that you can see below:
