They're out there! The X-Files becomes Channel 5's highest rating drama ever

The X-Files has become the highest rating drama to ever screen on Channel 5, the broadcaster has said.

The reboot, which premiered in the UK on February 8, secured Channel 5 its highest overnight ratings in over a year with an average audience of 3.17 million viewers, and an additional 60,000 tuning in an hour later on Channel 5 +1.

Data from the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board (Barb) has now revealed the consolidated viewing figures, which incorporate playback of content within seven days of the original broadcast.
