A Celebrity Taste of Italy, 9.00pm, C5

A Celebrity Taste of Italy

A gentle taste of la dolce vita as five senior celebrities embark on a cooking trip to Italy. Judith Chalmers, Johnny Ball, Rula Lenska, Ian Lavender and Diana Moran set up home in a Tuscan villa, where they experience Italian life, learn a bit of the language and, most importantly, learn how to cook like an Italian. Episode one of this four-part series eases them in gently with a simple lunch of antipasti and dinner of gnocchi in tomato sauce. Green Goddess Diana knocks them into shape with an early-morning workout, while love is in the air for Rula and a much younger fisherman when the celebs go fishing. Rating: ***

Britain By Bike, 8.00pm C5

Larry and George Lamb set off on a two-wheeled tour

Father and son Larry and George Lamb are taking to the open road to enjoy some of our greatest cycle routes in this new series. Their adventure begins high in the Yorkshire Dales, with views to die for, but hills that could do you a mischief, too! Larry has brought his electric bike, while poor George puffs and pants his way up the slopes. First stop is a sheepdog farm where the pair try training a young border collie. After a trip to Malham Cove, where George faces his fear of heights, it’s time for a famous Skipton pork pie. Later, George has a go at part of the Tour de Yorkshire route, while Larry checks out some local history, leaving just enough time for a bit of ferret racing in the local pub. Rating: ****
