What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Monday 15th October

Autumnwatch New England, 8pm, BBC2

The Watch Team swap the UK for the US in this four-part Autumnwatch special, broadcast live from New Hampshire on the Northeast coast of America. It has all the ingredients for a fantastic Fall, from the six billion trees that create a colour sensation visible from space, to bears, moose and bobcats. Presenters Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan are live from a log cabin in the Squam Lake area, while co-presenter Gillian Burke goes further afield to get closer to the region’s nocturnal mammals, woodpeckers and bald eagles. As always, expect the unexpected from the network of hidden cameras. Rating: *****

Black Earth Rising , 9pm, BBC2

Kate is ready for answers about Alice’s motivations, but as they meet for dinner, Alice starts to feel unwell… Kate’s quest for the truth then gathers pace, as she heads to the countryside to get more information on Patrice before getting involved in a thrilling car chase! Michael suggests she go to Rwanda – but being in the country of her birth is a traumatic experience. Rating: ****

Why Does Everyone Hate the English?, 9pm, History

Al Murray heads to Wales and teams up with Welsh comedian Elis James to see if they can find out why the Welsh have beef with the English. Elis suggest it might have something to do with mining… and being the butt of sheep jokes. These are among the controversies they court as the pair travel Wales to ponder the past. Rating: ***
