What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Monday 27th August

Speed with Guy Martin, 9pm, C4

As a superbike champion Guy Martin is used to racing on two wheels, but this latest entertaining one-off sees him swap two wheels for four. The down-to-earth mechanical whiz spends six months restoring a classic 1983 Williams F1 car, the FW08c. This was the first F1 car iconic racing driver Ayrton Senna ever drove and it went on to win the 1983 Monaco Grand Prix. Guy’s mission is to rebuild the car, learn how to drive it and then race 2009 F1 world champion Jenson Button around Silverstone. And just to even things up a bit, Jenson is also driving a 1980s racing car – an experimental Williams prototype sporting not four but six wheels… Rating: ****

Countryfile: Summer Diaries, 9am, BBC1

The heatwave is high on the agenda as the Summer series of Countryfile Diaries gets under way. With the sun a major concern for many people, today Keeley Donovan reveals the best ways to protect against skin cancer – the fastest-growing type of cancer in the UK – while Jules Hudson reports on keeping a pooch cool. Meanwhile, on the River Thames, Margherita Taylor discovers seahorses and lampreys are thriving, even though the river was declared biologically dead 60 years ago. Elsewhere, Judge John Deed star Jenny Seagrove visits a Surrey sanctuary where abandoned horses go on to help sick children. Top-quality welly telly, every morning this week. Rating: ****

Drinkers Like Me, 9pm, BBC2

Like many Brits, Adrian Chiles doesn’t think he’s a problem drinker, but he’s been breaking the recommended limit for alcohol since he first sneaked into his local at 16. In this honest, gentle film, he examines his relationship with booze and talks to friends, health professionals and a therapist to understand why people drink and how his health has been affected. Rating: ****
