It’s been clear from the start that Pete Carr (Neil Morrissey) is a man who’ll lie to get himself out of a spot. We find out just how much of a wrong ’un he is this week when DNA results come back linking Pete to a break-in at a church when teenager Hayley was murdered. So Cassie (Nicola Walker) and Sunny (Sanjeev Bhaskar) call him in for questioning – and it’s not long before even bigger secrets about Pete’s past are revealed. Rating: *****
Travels in Trumpland, 9pm, BBC2
Part two of Ed’s enlightening road trip focuses on Trump’s pledge to ‘make America safe again’. He starts in Louisiana, the state with the highest crime rate and some of the most lenient gun laws in the United States. The people he meets, including police recruits and a gay gun instructor with a Mexican partner, are determined to protect their right to bear arms, even if that means putting a reality star in charge of the free world. Then there’s the emotive issue of school shootings, and Ed is left in tears speaking to a survivor’s mother… If that sounds heavy, there’s a moment of light relief to look forward to, when Ed returns to the dance floor at a club. Rating: ****
Flying Across Britain with Arthur Williams, 7pm, C4
Former Royal Marine Arthur is one of 50,000 people with a pilot’s licence in the UK, and in this four-part series, he puts it to entertaining use, visiting some of the country’s 900 airfields in his Piper Cub. Along the way Arthur meets a host of characters, including an ex-City trader who’s developing a jet-powered suit! An engaging celebration of aviation hobbyists and British eccentricity. Rating: ****
