TV Times top picks for tonight

What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Tuesday 12th June

Our Girl, 9pm, BBC1

As an experienced army medic, you would think Georgie (Michelle Keegan) might have learned not to let emotion interfere with her duty by now. But her reckless actions are set to have dire consequences tonight, after she made a disastrous diversion on what should have been a straight forward mission at the end of last week’s episode. Not only has she ruined a three-month undercover operation, led by her new boss, Bones (Olly Rix), but she and her comrades from 2-section now find themselves behind enemy lines and in serious danger. With no hint that their captors in northern Nigeria will be merciful, and no suggestion they’ll negotiate, will Georgie and crew make it out alive? Rating: ****

Ackley Bridge, 8pm, C4

After learning she had an estranged half-brother in last week’s opener, Nas wants nothing to do with Aaron. Best friend Missy, however, doesn’t share her view. When Aaron steps in to save her from a financial crisis, Missy’s initially furious with his meddling – but will she begin to see Aaron in a whole new light? Elsewhere, PE teacher Steve intervenes when the horrifying truth about student Jordan’s home life is revealed. Rating: ****

The Hotel Inspector, 9pm, Channel 5

Yeoldon House Hotel should have a lot going for it. A beautiful period property on the banks of the River Torridge in North Devon, it has bags of potential. Yet owners John and Ilona are struggling to keep their retirement project afloat – they bought the 10-bed hotel four years ago and undertook a major and very expensive refurbishment. But still the guests are staying away and John and Ilona’s dream is turning into a nightmare. Alex feels the rooms are bland and boring, and that the whole place needs an injection of personality to make it memorable. But can she convince the careful owners to stand out from the crowd? Rating: ***
