What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Tuesday 23rd October

Inside the Tower of London, 9.15pm, Channel 5

At 950 years old, the Tower of London is one of the oldest landmarks in Britain and has had many famous residents over the centuries, from Guy Fawkes to the Kray twins. But the only people who live in the ancient stronghold these days are the 37 ‘Yeoman Warders’ – or Beefeaters – who guard the walls and look after the three million visitors who walk through the gates every year. In the first episode of this four-part series they take us behind the scenes and show us what daily life at the Tower is really like, while sharing juicy tales from the landmark’s rich history. There’s also a peek inside the grim Bloody Tower as staff prepare a new exhibition about the tragic Princes in the Tower. Rating: ****

Raza is understandably nervous, struggling to keep his cool, and initially arouses the suspicions of those he meets – but he quickly shows that he’s able to think on his feet. Elsewhere, more of Gabe’s home life is revealed when he invites his new police partner Holly (Bel Powley) to have dinner with him and his wife Emily (Jessica Raine), and Holly gets a glimpse of Gabe’s darker side… Rating: *****
