Benidorm, 9pm, ITV

While Robert frets about Cyd’s dad arriving, Loretta’s still convinced that it’s all part of a ploy to rob and trick the family. But then her dad Franco arrives – in his private jet – wearing a very smart suit and expensive watch, and you can imagine what he thinks of the Dawsons! Vlad is still chasing Kenneth, filling Blow and Go with balloons and flowers. Kenneth comes up with a cunning plan to rid himself of the love-struck giant for good – but it means a drastic personality change. Rating: ***

Assassination of Gianni Versace, 9pm, BBC2

This creepy but totally gripping US drama makes the heart race, and it’s not always the main characters causing it. Cody Fern and Finn Wittrock are mesmerising as David Madson and Jeff Trail, the first two victims of serial killer Andrew Cunanan. As the series doesn’t follow a chronological timeline, we’ve already seen both men dispatched by Cunanan. Yet this week’s episode reveals how David and Jeff met for the first time at Cunanan’s weird birthday party in a San Diego mansion, which also happens to be attended by the killer’s third victim, Lee Miglin. Knowing what their fate is a year later makes these scenes even more chilling… Rating: *****
