TV Times top picks for tonight

What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Saturday 1st December

Dancing to Happiness, 9pm, BBC2

When Dame Darcey Bussell retired from professional ballet 12 years ago, it took a real toll on her emotionally. It was only when Darcey took up dance classes again that she realised how crucial dance was in keeping her on an ‘even keel’. For this uplifting film, the Strictly judge meets people whose lives have been transformed by dance, including a brave group of troubled teens who have found support and strength through special dance therapy classes. She also discovers how dance helps older people who have dementia and Parkinson’s and learns why dance, more than any other form of exercise, has such a positive impact on mental health. Strictly Come Dancing, 7.05pm, BBC1

Can you believe we’ve reached the quarter-finals already? And the good news is it’s Musicals Week, so get ready for some jazz hands and high kicks! The show opens with a group performance paying homage to the hit ABBA show Mamma Mia! and we’re crossing our fingers they’ll dress Anton up in blue dungarees and a blonde wig. Then our six remaining couples will take inspiration from West End productions to bring razzmatazz to the ballroom. But which couple will be sent packing? Be sure to tune in to tomorrow night’s results show (7.20pm) to find out, and enjoy Adam Lambert singing Queen… Rating: *****

The X Factor Final, 7.30pm, ITV

After singing their hearts out for weeks, the finalists take to the stage at Wembley Arena. All our singers will need to be knockout to impress judges Simon, Robbie, Ayda and Louis, a crowd of thousands and those watching at home – but it will be viewer votes alone that decide the winner. Find out who it is in tomorrow’s show (7.30pm)… Rating: ***

More previews tomorrow.
