Legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz has said the hoaxed BBC trailer at the centre of the Crowngate affair 'missed the whole point' of her shoot. The misleading editing of the trailer featuring the Queen cost the jobs of BBC One controller Peter Fincham and RDF Media's boss Stephen Lambert. Leibovitz, 58, told the Press Association: "I think the BBC missed the whole point. They had an interesting piece to film without having to go to the extreme of making it up so it looks as though she's walking out. "Like anyone, she can be a little feisty, but I find that kind of wonderful." She added: "It wasn't any big surprise to me that someone can start off a shoot being uncomfortable. "I don't know too many people who like to be photographed." She went on: "I was not excited about them (the BBC) being there. I was asked by the Queen's office to let them film, and I did it, but to me it's a distraction. "I was actually quite honestly amused by all the controversy. "But when it comes down to it it was totally of course incorrect that they falsified what happened." She said they missed the Queen's "great resolve" and said the monarch "was extraordinary". The trailer for A Year With The Queen appeared to show the monarch storming out of a photoshoot after Leibovitz suggested she remove her crown. In a BBC press conference, journalists were told it showed her 'walking out in a huff', but it had been misleadingly edited by production company RDF and the footage of the Queen apparently walking out was actually of her walking in.
