The stars of The Only Way Is Essex claim they would be successful with or without the show and don’t aspire to be like any former TOWIE favourites.

A recent TOWIE rich list, published by The Sun, revealed the wealth that has been generated by past stars including Amy Childs, Joey Essex and Mark Wright.

It was reported that, since quitting the show in 2011, Amy has amassed a £5 million fortune from her fashion and beauty products. Meanwhile, Joey Essex is reported to be worth £4.5 million. And it’s believed Mark Wright, who recently wed former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan, has a cool £4 million in the bank.

Others on the rich list include Sam Faiers, Lucy Mecklenburgh and Lauren Goodger.

While Georgia Kousoulou admitted that seeing those people succeed 'does give you motivation', boyfriend Tommy Mallet told whatsontv.co.uk: “I've got my own goals to reach so as long as I’m doing what I want to do I don't really look at other people and aspire to be them.”

And Lewis Bloor revealed that he already had a lucrative career in the city prior to joining the show. “We’re all driven and motivated people and when we get our teeth into something we’re gonna crack on with it," he said. "I’m working with app developers now on two apps that within the next 12 to 18 months should be coming to fruition, which is nothing to do with the show.

"All being on the show does is present us with more opportunities and is more of a leapboard.”

He added: "I don’t think any of us want to be the next Joey Essex, Mark Wright or Amy Childs – we want to be Tommy Mallet, Georgia Kousoulou, Lewis Bloor and Chloe Lewis!"

TOWIE returns on Sunday June 14 at 10pm on ITVBe.
