TV Times tops picks for tonight

What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight three of the best shows on telly tonight for Tuesday 31st October including the final episode of Our Girl...

Our Girl, 9.00pm, BBC1

With a sandstorm approaching, enemies lurking and injured soldiers still not out of the woods, everyone is on edge going into the dramatic finale of this gripping mini-series. There are more medical emergencies as the hour unfolds – and ambushes to dodge – but there could be some good news, too, as the tension between Georgie and Elvis continues to thaw. He’s charming his way back into her good books and romance is on the cards. But elsewhere, watch out for a sting in the tail as tonight’s action-packed episode concludes with a very dangerous mission… If you’re worried about withdrawal symptoms, don’t fret – Our Girl will be back next year. Rating: ****

Strike Back, 9.00pm, Sky One

Strike Back, Katherine Kelly

Season six of this big-budget, tough-talking, all-guns-blazing action drama may have a new team and a new mission, but if you liked the first five series, you’ll like this. Warren Brown takes the lead as Sergeant McAllister, a battle-hardened soldier who is out for revenge after his team were murdered by terrorist Omair Idrisi. There are a lot of famous faces making up the cast, including Corrie and Mr Selfridge star Katherine Kelly as Idrisi’s blood-thirsty British wife, while Nina Sosanya is the boss of the new team of soldiers out to stop Idrisi. And watch out for Trevor Eve, who is relishing his role as a bad-to-the-bone arms dealer. Loud, proud shoot-’em-up fun. Rating: ***

Great British Bake Off, 8.00pm, C4

After nine weeks of beautiful bakes, Hollywood handshakes and terrific themes (including new additions Caramel Week and Italian Week), it’s time for the final showdown. Paul and Prue have three very tricky tasks up their sleeves for our remaining bakers: a batch of loaves; Prue’s tough twist on a simple biscuit bake; and a multi-layered patisserie showstopper. Who will snaffle the 2017 crown? Rating: *****
