After being talked about for nearly half the movie, the supposedly dead Harry Lime appears for a second in a lighted doorway, alive and well and with the best smirk in cinema history. It's the sort of build up that very few actors could live up to... But Orson Welles pulls it off with typical aplomb in Carol Reed's The Third Man.
