Unforgotten series three details and new stars revealed

The return of this superior crime drama has been one of our highlights of the year so far, and now it’s bowing out with a typically stunning finale.

ITV has finally released details of Unforgotten series three, and it sounds like it will be as gripping as ever.

Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar are back as DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunny Khan, while Alex Jennings, Neil Morrissey, Kevin R McNally and James Fleet join the cast as four men who find themselves at the centre of a murder investigation.

When the body of a teenage girl is discovered, it’s up to Cassie and Sunny to work out what – if anything – each of the men had to do with her death 18 years ago.

At the end of series two, writer Chris Lang revealed he felt he needed to do at least one more series to tie up some loose ends.

He told RadioTimes: ‘I’d love to come back for another go, I’d like to do one more series, because I want to square various circles with Cassie and Sunny.’

Filming for the ITV drama started this month and last week Neil Morrissey was spotted shooting scenes outside King’s Lynn station in Norfolk.

The start date has yet to be revealed, but we hope they don't keep us waiting too long!
