What's hot at this year's BFI London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival

This year's BFI London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, which takes place from 23 March - 1 April, looks set to be a real stunner. The Opening Night Gala film is Thom Fitzgerald's Cloudburst, starring Olympia Dukakis and Brenda Fricker as a pair of septuagenarian lovers, while the festival will close with Bavo Defurne's North Sea Texas, a compelling tale of teenage longing set in a Belgian coastal town. We've been lucky to catch a preview of this, and it's really marvellous, so we shall be reviewing it in full on March 23. But if you can't wait, have a peek at the trailer below.

Other highlights include The Perfect Family, starring Kathleen Turner as a Catholic woman coming to terms with her daughter's sexuality; the Argentinian thriller Absent about a schoolboy who develops a crush on his teacher, and Fragments: The Incomplete Films of Peter de Rome, an engrossing documentary about the legendary British-born film-maker of Super 8 1960s and 1970s erotica whose playful cinematic ouevre is the subject of a forthcoming new BFI DVD release, The Erotic Films of Peter de Rome.

Public booking opens on today (8 March) and tickets are already selling out fast. Click here for more details http://youtube.com/v/-ILOJIsDRjQ
