Bodyguard, 9pm, BBC1
Line of Duty won’t be back on our screens until next year, but this political thriller from its creator, Jed Mercurio, should keep viewers on the edge of their seats for the moment. Richard Madden (Game of Thrones’ Robb Stark) stars as personal protection officer David Budd, who’s assigned to Home Secretary Julia Montague, played by the excellent Keeley Hawes, yet there’s far more to both leads than meets the eye. A pulsating opening to tonight’s episode sets the tone nicely for the rest of the series – with episode two following tomorrow – and there’ll be many more twists and turns as we’re drawn into a murky world of conspiracy and counterterrorism. Rating: *****
Eight Go Rallying: Road to Saigon, 9pm, BBC2
Two cars might have been taken out of action by the events of the first leg, but the celebrity duos manage to get back on the road during the second episode of this epic adventure in the Far East. There’s a mad dash for the border when the teams – including Martin Kemp and his wife Shirlie – realise the whole rally has to pass into Cambodia by early afternoon, and there’s no let-up for either husband-and-wife duo Noel Edmonds and Liz or mother- and-daughter team Andi Oliver and Miquita, who must drive into the night on challenging roads to avoid being left behind. But it’s all worth it when they get to experience the breathtaking grandeur of Angkor Wat, the mysterious centrepiece of the ancient Khmer empire. Rating: ****
Fake or Fortune?, 8pm, BBC1
This week, presenter Fiona Bruce and art expert Philip Mould are given the task of discovering whether a drawing of reclining figures is a genuine work of art by the great British sculptor Henry Moore. The sketch was part of a private German collection that was only discovered in 2012 and is currently being held in the Museum of Fine Art in Bern, Switzerland. As Fiona heads to Switzerland and Germany to search for its provenance, Philip orders some scientific tests on the sketch and meets Henry Moore’s daughter, Mary, to see if she can shed any light. Could it have been stolen, looted by the Nazis or is it simply a fake? Rating: ****
