Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch can make up for his Oscar disappointment and carry off a Bafta award for his portrayal of the master detective at the TV Baftas tomorrow night.
Cumberbatch, who was beaten to the best actor Oscar by Eddie Redmayne, is nominated for the leading actor award.
He is up against Toby Jones for Marvellous, James Nesbitt for The Missing, and Jason Watkins for The Lost Honour Of Christopher Jefferies.

It is Cumberbatch’s third nomination for his performance in the hit show.
Other winners could include Sheridan Smith, who is recognised for her portrayal of Cilla Black in the ITV biopic.
She is shortlisted for the leading actress award with Line Of Duty star Keeley Hawes, Sarah Lancashire for Happy Valley, and Georgina Campbell from Murdered By My Boyfriend.

Smith’s portrayal of the singer, who was given a special award for her 50 years in television at last year’s bash, was so popular it propelled the Scouse singer’s 1964 number one, Anyone Who Had A Heart, back into the charts.
BBC dramas dominate with Happy Valley, Marvellous, The Missing and Line Of Duty leading the way with three nods.
But corporation bosses could be left red-faced if Campbell wins her category or her show, BBC Three’s Murdered By My Boyfriend, is named best single drama – just as the corporation moves to axe the digital channel and replace it with an online-only service.

Lancashire’s co-star in Happy Valley, James Norton, is nominated for the supporting actor award and the show is in the running for best drama.
Toby Jones’s co-star in Marvellous, Gemma Jones, was nominated for best supporting actress – her first nod since 1977.
Ken Stott’s role in The Missing sees him nominated for best supporting actor, alongside Adeel Akhtar from Channel 4′s Utopia and Stephen Rea for The Honourable Woman.

Line Of Duty’s Vicky McClure is nominated for best supporting actress alongside Amanda Redman for ITV’s Tommy Cooper biopic and Charlotte Spencer for E4′s Glue.
Strictly Come Dancing’s Claudia Winkleman is nominated for best entertainment performance alongside chatshow host Graham Norton, Ant and Dec and Celebrity Juice’s Leigh Francis.
This year’s ceremony at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, London, is hosted by Graham Norton.
Olivia Colman’s nomination for female performance in a comedy programme for Rev is her fourth consecutive nod for the TV Baftas, and her co-star Tom Hollander is also recognised with a nomination for male performance in a comedy programme.

Colman is up against W1A’s Jessica Hynes, Tamsin Greig for Episodes, and Catherine Tate for Catherine Tate’s Nan.
Hollander faces competition from Hynes’s co-star Hugh Bonneville, Toast Of London’s Matt Berry, and the brains behind Mrs Brown’s Boys, Brendan O’Carroll.
Saturday Night Takeaway and Strictly Come Dancing both receive a second nomination for entertainment programme, where they are up against The Voice and Dynamo: Magician Impossible.
The Graham Norton Show picks up a second nomination in comedy and comedy entertainment programme alongside Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe, Would I Lie to You and Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle.
Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse are nominated in scripted comedy for Harry And Paul’s Story Of The Twos, with James Corden and Mathew Baynton for The Wrong Mans, Chris O’Dowd for Sky 1′s Moone Boy, and Detectorists, which starred Toby Jones and was written and directed by Mackenzie Crook.

The international shows nominated are Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black and House Of Cards, along with The Good Wife and True Detective.
Channel 4′s The Undateables and The Island With Bear Grylls are nominated alongside The Apprentice and I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! in the reality and constructed factual category.
Also nominated at the event, formally known as the British Academy Television Awards, are Hollyoaks, Casualty, EastEnders and Coronation Street, which will fight it out to win the soap and continuing drama award.
