As if further proof of Ricky Gervais's stature was required, American comic star Will Ferrell has put his hand up for the last episode of Extras. Quite probably the biggest international comic star right now, Ferrell told WENN that he's a huge fan of Gervais. Ferrell, 39, says, "I love Ricky. He is amazing. He hasn't approached me to do Extras - at least not that I know of. "I would do it if he asked." As recently as a week ago, Gervais's writing partner on Extras, Stephen Merchant, said the duo hadn't even met to discuss a concept for the final, extended episode they planned. But with Ferrell's comments, there's little doubt they'll be able to conjure up a role for the actor who's currently starring in box office hit, Blades of Glory.
