The Great British Bake Off Who’d have thought a show about people baking in a tent would become the biggest show on the box?! Mel and Sue front the mega-hit, which sees Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins host as Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood do the judging. For now at least... Next year, the BBC institution moves to Channel 4. There’s never a dull moment in baking!

 

Masterchef

MasterChef Gregg Wallace and John Torode teamed up for another excellent series of this BBC institution. The pair spark off each superbly and it’s become one of the most engrossing shows on the box.

 

X Factor 2016

The X Factor Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger are on the panel for the 13th series of the ITV hit. With Dermot O’Leary back hosting, the show seems to have regained its old zest and there have been plenty of entertaining music acts for us to enjoy as the race continues to be crowned X Factor champion.

Strictly Come Dancing The BBC1 favourite has pulled together another intriguing line-up with Judge Rinder, Louise Redknapp, Lesley Joseph and, erm, Ed Balls! It will be an emotional affair this time around as judge Len Goodman waves goodbye in his final ever series. Who will claim the glitterball this year?

 

BGT 2016

Britain’s Got Talent Nearly 10 million watched when magician Richard Jones was announced as the winner of the ITV talent show in May. The judges, including the fab double act of David Walliams and Simon Cowell, were also taken by performances by 100 Voices of Gospel, Mel and Jamie and Wayne Woodward.

The Great British Sewing Bee Sewing always seemed such a gentle pastime until it got its own BBC2 show. Now, there’s huge tension as the contestants compete to impress judges Patrick Grant and co. Claudia Winkleman is on presenting duties in this Bake Off spin off.
