Casualty's soap star super collision!

There’s a soap star super collision in Saturday’s Casualty when Kacey Ainsworth, Tina O’Brien and Marc Silcock get tangled up in an action-packed storyline.

The episode sees Kacey Ainsworth ditch the timidity of her EastEnders’ alter ego Little Mo Slater to star as hardnosed copper DS Annie Reardon. Annie’s convinced ex-criminal Grant Tindal (Emmerdale’s Marc Silcock) has carried out an armed robbery on a local bookie’s. Ex Coronation Street star Tina stars as Grant’s pregnant wife Olivia who, terrified her husband will return prison, provides a false alibi for him. But with the police closing in, Grant does a runner, leading to a high-wire accident.

Kacey caused the nation to hold its breath on New Year’s Eve 2001 when long-suffering Little Mo bashed her abusive husband Trevor repeatedly over the head with an iron, almost killing him. Kacey starred in Eastenders from 2000 until 2006 when viewers saw Little Mo leaving London with her son Freddie.

Tina O’Brien became a household name as Sarah Louise Platt in Coronation Street from 1999 to 2007. During her time on the soap Tina captivated Corrie fans with Sarah Louise’s teenage pregnancy storyline, sibling rivalry with brother David, and romances with the Grimshaw brothers Todd and Jason.

Marc Silcock, meanwhile, helped raise audience figures for Emmerdale with his portrayal of Jackson Walsh. Jackson was central to Aaron Livesey's coming out, and became established in his own right with an emotional right-to-die storyline, after a train accident left the character a quadriplegic.
