The Spice Girls and The X Factor winner Leona Lewis are among the stars pledging their support for the BBC's Sport Relief 2008. They are just a few of the famous faces who will be doing something sporty for the event, which raises money for vulnerable people both in the UK and abroad. Scary, Ginger, Baby, Posh and, of course, Sporty celebrated the launch of the annual fundraiser by encouraging the nation to 'Rise To The Challenge' and take part in the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile. Melanie C said: "Signing up to do a mile for Sport Relief is such an easy thing to do especially after the post Christmas excesses." This year, singer Leona will be releasing the official Sport Relief single, which she will perform on BBC1's Sport Relief night on Friday, March 14. Sir Alan Sugar will boss 10 celebrity candidates in Sport Relief Does the Apprentice, while Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly will host a special edition of Strictly Come Dancing. And Stephen Fry will be keeping the teams in line for a Question of Sport Relief. Live coverage from the Mile events will be shown during The Sport Relief Mile Show on Sunday March 16 on BBC1. Eager participants can sign up for their nearest mile at www.sportrelief.com.
