I'm A Celeb stars 'lowest paid ever'

This year's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! contestants are among the lowest paid in series history, according to reports.

The Sunday Mirror claims that while previous participants were paid in upwards of £250,000, 2013's most expensive contestant - Westlife's Kian Egan - is receiving only £100,000.

Swimmer Rebecca Adlington is the second best paid at £80,000, with Joey Essex on £60,000.

However Miss GB Amy Willerton is reported to be earning just £25,000 for her jungle stint - less than half of the amount Helen Flanagan was paid to appear in 2012.

A source told the paper: "There's bound to be a few grumbles once contestants become aware of how low some of the salaries are.

"But bosses think this year's contestants can be the best yet."

The action in the I'm A Celebrity... jungle is already underway, with arrivals quickly taken out of their comfort zone when they had to skydive into the jungle,

Meanwhile Joey Essex has come face to face with his first jungle critters in an early bushtucker trial.

The series kicks off on ITV at 9pm on Sunday night.
