I'm A Celebrity: Annabel Giles is first out of the jungle

Annabel Giles has become the first person to be given the boot from the I'm A Celebrity 2013 jungle following the public vote on Sunday night.

The former model - who lost out to Alfonso Ribeiro after they both landed in the bottom two - lasted just over a week in the jungle, having been a late arrival with Vincent Simone.

Vincent was one of five celebrities who won immunity from the chop following a series of tasks undertaken by the 'camp saviours' in recent days.

David Emanuel, Rebecca Adlington and Laila Morse also won immunity from eviction, and Matthew Wright joined them after winning a special group task earlier in the day.

Annabel remained philosophical about her premature departure from camp, saying: "I feel a bit like the most unpopular girl in school, but somebody's got to be first out."

She also admitted her time in the jungle had been a 'lot harder' than she had anticipated.

"I'm sure everyone comes out and says that - there's all sorts of things you don't see in an hour-long show," Annabel explained. "It's really quite tough."

She also addressed her campmates' apparent dislike of Amy Willerton and the subsequent tension it had caused.

"I don't think there is a genuine misunderstanding," she said.

"We keep finding little signs that it is not a level playing field, that Amy is definitely playing a game."

However she added that her campmates were "a lovely bunch of people".

The next I'm A Celebrity elimination will take place on Monday night's show.
