Former Buffy star Anthony Head says the new BBC One series Merlin is 'a whole new way of looking at the legend of Camelot'. The popular 54-year-old actor plays King Uther, a bitter, drunken monarch who is hell-bent on eradicating magic from his kingdom for ever. Anthony told whatsontv.co.uk he has high hopes for the series, which premieres on BBC One on Saturday, September 20. "It's got such astoundingly good production values and it's got such a strong cast and such a strong story... They're not just taking the story of Arthur, which we all kind of know in the back of our minds - they're taking some basic ingredients and mixing them up," he said. Anthony compared Merlin to the US show Smallville, which retold the story of Superman as a boy and young man. VIDEO: Watch Anthony Head talk about new BBC One series Merlin.
